Day 26: Family & Friends Are More Important Than Work

I've been talking a lot about these last six weeks, but one thing I haven't addressed is how I put my work before my family and friends.

My family understood. I'm a salaried employee that's paid to do a job. Unfortunately, this particular assignment had taken up more time than I expected. So I had to spend more time than I usually do (40-hr work week) to get it done.

My friends understood it too. Although, some really needed my help while I was busy. I let them down.

I don't want that to happen ever again. I want to always put my family and friends first. That's the reason I work so hard in the first place - so I can spend more time and energy with them!

Hard work, to me, is a means to an end. That end being friends and family.

I've worked hard in 2020. I will have to work even harder in 2021.

But in this new year, I'll remember to always put my friends and family first.
