Day #29: Diving Into Orwell

For some weird reason, I am up at 1:42 A.M.

I don't know why. I've been reading a lot of Orwell's essays after reading 1984.

Other than the obvious statement about how true 1984 rings in our present-day society, I was more focused on the materials that were influenced in crafting the story.

There are two essays by him that shape a lot of the structural organization of the plot, "Second Thoughts on James Burnham" and "Burnham's View of the Contemporary World Struggle."

Both are incredibly well written, and you can clearly tell how each essay (especially the former) structurally shaped the plot of 1984.

I'll have more to say on these two essays later.
