Day #30: Trying To "Graduate Myself"
I got a haircut today. It was long overdue.
My usual barber was unavailable, so I went with another one in the shop which was open.
I prefer my usual barber. But I needed a haircut, so I went with him.
The guy teased me about asking for the wrong type of cut as he was nearly finished with it. I ended up paying extra to compensate him as he had to cut my hair further to my liking.
I didn't like that.
However, one thing he mentioned was the fact that I need to "graduate myself."
What does that mean? I was still getting the same haircut since childhood. Still wearing the same clothes I did in college. I was driving an old car that my sister gave me.
I've graduated from higher educational institutions twice over. I make over double what I did as a grad student.
His observation is a direct reflection of me stating that I'm still in "grad school mode" in these blog posts and vlogs.
He's right. It's something I'm working on.
He recommended I upgrade my look, try out a new type of haircut, get a more expensive car, etc.
You can find which one I'll follow up with him about.
Tomorrow, I'll share my observations on having vlogged and blogged for over thirty days.
