Day 35: Covid And California
Some thoughts on COVID's spread in California:
I never imagined things would get bad in California, especially SoCal. The fact that LA county hospitals have to turn patients away due to lack of ICU beds (currently at 0% in the state).
It's the medical profession's worst-case nightmare. The country had plenty of time to prepare and increase bed capacity, but they didn't.
And Dr. Fauci says that the pandemic will only get worse.
It's utterly insane what's going on. I can't look away at how screwed America is right now.
My plans were to return to Cali in July (at the earliest), but I don't think that will be happening now. Not until COVID gets under control.
Is this a setback for me? Not really - I like being at home, and I can work from anywhere ostensibly.
Yet, I'm still lost for words seeing what's going on with America's handling of COVID. I'll have more thoughts on this tomorrow.
